Thanks, would't it be easier to make higher potency liqid soap - KOH + canola oil, and add the soap to water when needed? As the rain water is soft and good for soap making it would be good for this aplication too. What do you think?

Im hoping you could give me a little guidance. FPJ is a new interest of mine for my dragonfruit farm. I have three hectares. I see the dilution of the mixture is about 1:500 or 1:1000. I think I would need about 4 - 8 liters of FPJ per hectare. How often would you apply this, ofcourse Ecuador is a tropical climate and finding plant material will be very easy, especially in the rainy season. I see my fermentation vessel needing to be. Big plastic drum. Also curious about using molasses instead of brown sugar. Any help you could give in my journey to learning and becoming an organic farm would be great.

@@rainerrain9689 give it 72 hours and it’s ready especially if it’s warm weather then add whole milk and let that curd up 3-5 days and strain out cheese curds and the. U have LABs once you see the difference you will make it often. Also u can use old labs and just add milk to the older labs and it makes a new batch in a few days. I would only do this 2-3 times and the. Start a new batch from different grains

"Arsenic in brown rice: do the benefits outweigh the risks?" "In rice, inorganic arsenic is found in the two outer layers of the grain (i.e., bran and germ), and the bran and germ are removed to refine the grain into white rice. Thus, a greater concentration of arsenic is found in brown rice than in white rice." 14 July 2023

I've read the jadam book and honestly some of the stuff is almost culty. There's 348 pages and more than half doesn't need to be in there. It does have some legitimate information, but I agree, deciphering it can be somewhat difficult. The main take away is anaerobes, specifically lacto bacillus, are extremely useful. They regulate ph and munch on excess npk and turn it into enzymes that are very easy for the plant to take up. many cultures of bacillus are facilitative (I could be wrong can't remember the terminology) so they operate aerobically or anaerobically as the environment needs. Jadam and knf really like to drive home low cost locally sourced. I'm personally a big fan of dandelion tea/compost as dandelions are both local and abundant. Insead of foraging for mountainous leaf mulch(mold) I just made a leaf mulching bin. Fermenting can be kind of a smelly hassle if you don't have the room for it too. And most of the fertilizers in knf/jadam are large batch ferments. I make small batch lab (for ferments) and keep active aerated culture of bacillus(compost tea) so I have a good balance of both aerobic and anaerobic varieties of bacillus. Vermicomposting (worm bin) is a pretty comparable substitute as you can still control what goes into it. If they are well maintained leaf bin and worm bin do not small bad at all, even indoors. Over anything I highly recommend looking into information on soil and it's micro biology and understanding some basics of what makes it "bad"vs "good". Understanding which composts have what in them and their purposes within the soil ecology, as well as, your crop's specific likes and dislikes as far as drainage, soil richness, and nutrient preferences are always great places to start.
